Abstract
An experimental study of equation of state under impact loading was carried out on metallic powder materials based on a laser device. By solving the technical difficulties of powder materials being inhomogeneous, unable to be fixed the shape and measured precisely, a laser micro-target was obtained to satisfy the laser equation of state experimental study, and the precise characterization of the initial density was realized. The technique boosts the pressure of copper powder (initial density ~4g/cm³) to 1350 GPa, and the experimental results show good consistency of the data D-u relationship, and the relative extended uncertainty of the shockwave velocity measurement reaches 2% (K=2), which can be applied to experimental studies of high-pressure equations of state for other powder materials.
