Highly-collimated bright neutron generation by PW laser based on inverse kinematical focused effect

Abstract
Relativistic ultra-intense laser is used to generate short-pulse highly-collimated bright neutron beam. The lithium ion beam with the highest energy of 37MeV was obtained by using a femtosecond PW laser to interact with an ultra-thin double-layer composite lithium target. Based on the inverse kinematical focused effect of lithium ion bombarding hydrogen-rich target, a directional neutron beam with half divergence angle 30° was generated. The PIC code is used to simulate the relationship between the lithium ion beam parameters and the target thickness, and the Geant4 code is used to verify the neutron beam with directional distribution. The neutron beam has an important application prospect for nuclear physics research.
