Abstract
Single-turn coil (STC) is a destructive pulsed magnet used to generate ultra-high magnetic field beyond 100 T. In this study, a finite element simulation model of the STC based on electromagnetic field-circuit coupling is established, which not only takes into account the effects of the changes in inductance and resistance of the STC during the discharge process, but also realizes the simulation of solid-liquid phase transition of the STC. By comparing the simulation results with the experimental data, the correctness of the STC model based on electromagnetic field-circuit coupling is verified. In addition, the current density distribution and velocity distribution of the conductor, etc. during the discharge process are also analyzed.
