Abstract
This paper presents a detailed analysis of a single-phase GaN-based power factor correction (PFC) critical-conduction-mode (CRM) totem-pole rectifier with zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) control. The paper thoroughly derives the ZVS strategy for full-line periodic zero-voltage switching and introduces a double-closed-loop analytical converter model integrated with a real-time computing module. A critical aspect of ZVS implementation is the zero-current detection (ZCD) module. Thus, the paper provides a detailed analysis of ZCD signal delays and performs quantitative calculations to compensate for these delays. Both a simulation model and a small power prototype are developed and tested. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control strategy effectively achieves CRM totem-pole zero-voltage switching.
