Abstract
This paper presents a cross-correlation-based method for enhancing photoacoustic signals, which improves the sensitivity of photoacoustic spectroscopy gas detection systems and effectively suppresses noise. The technique correlates deterministic signals acquired at high concentrations with measurement signals from target gases, leading to higher measurement sensitivity and a lower detection limit. We describe the principle and implementation of the method and experimentally validate its effectiveness for trace acetylene detection. The low detection limit of sensing system is improved from 0.447 ppm to 0.152 ppm and reliable detection of acetylene at 0.2 ppm was achieved. These findings offer both theoretical and practical value for achieving high-sensitivity trace gas detection
