Abstract
Subsea power cables are critical infrastructure for offshore wind and cross-sea transmission, yet their vulnerability to environmental and operational risks demands precise inspection. This paper proposes a near-bottom tracking method based on magnetic–inertial multi-source positioning. By integrating a magnetic sensor array with an inertial navigation unit, attitude compensation is achieved so that the measured magnetic field data are consistently expressed in the geographic frame. A confidence-driven Bayesian weighting algorithm adaptively determines the contributions of each magnetic sensor channel according to signal-to-noise ratio and residual characteristics. The system adopts a closed-loop architecture that integrates data acquisition, time synchronization, and positioning solving. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method accurately reconstructs the cable path and effectively suppresses noise and vibration-induced errors, demonstrating strong application potential for intelligent subsea cable inspection and maintenance.
