Investigation of Saturated Flow Boiling Heat Transfer in Mini-channel Based on the SCIR Algorithm

Abstract
Based on the SCIR interface capturing method, nucleation site density model, energy jump phase change model, and microlayer model, this study develops a high-precision numerical approach for mini-channel flow boiling. It systematically investigates the flow pattern evolution and wall superheat characteristics in saturated flow boiling within rectangular mini-channels. The results show that under saturated flow boiling conditions, microlayer evaporation significantly accelerates the formation of slug flow. Moreover, the microlayer evaporation process plays a dominant role in enhancing convective heat transfer within the channel, markedly increasing the convective heat transfer coefficient and effectively reducing wall superheat.
