Abstract
As China's high-speed railway network has surpassed 42,000 kilometers in total length, operational challenges including harmonic distortions, voltage fluctuations, and grounding loop currents have raised considerable concerns regarding power system stability and train operational safety. This study focuses on the optimization of the grounding system in high-speed trains to improve operational safety and reliability. By developing an equivalent circuit model of the "catenary-train-track" system, simulation analyses are carried out to evaluate the impact of various grounding configurations under lightning strike conditions. An improved Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) is applied to optimize grounding resistance parameters, achieving an effective balance between peak overvoltage and overcurrent. The results demonstrate that the proposed optimization approach can mitigate overvoltage and overcurrent issues under the tested operational scenario.
