Assessment Method On Reflective Scanner Imaging Quality

Scanner is one of the main equipment used to collect digital image information, which has been widely used in household, office and professional printing &publishing and other fields. With the wide use of scanners, how to evaluate the imaging quality of scanner have become concerns for people to buy and use it. In this paper, the imaging process of scanner and the main performance index are described firstly. Then the most important parameter of scanners dynamic range and color reproduction are proposed, which are used to evaluate the image quality of scanner. Finally, experiment on four different types of scanners .Experiment result shows that, the proposed method can be a certain degree of evaluating the quality of different scanners, which is consistent with human subjective evaluation.
