Intellgient Container Logistic Management System Based On Beidou

This paper proposed a prototype system of intelligent container logistics management based on Beidou Navigation Satellite System (BDS). The system mainly consists of Container Monitoring Terminal (CMT), iPhone monitoring client software and Monitoring and Management Platform (MMP). In this prototype system, the hybrid network of Beidou satellite communication and Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) eliminates the blind area of data transmission in the whole process of container logistics. Google Maps is employed in the trajectory plotting of the container transportation. Bluetooth 4.0 technique enables the users to do the routine operations of sealing/unsealing simply by iPhone, which improves the compatibility of the system. The design of iPhone client software is also put forward based on mobile internet, which enhances real-time performance of the system and leads to better user experience. After being tested in several trade routes, the prototype system is verified to be feasible, efficient and reliable.
