To produce an aesthetic and legible visualization for Complex Networks, the traditional Force-Directed Algorithm (FDA) requires repeatedly testing force model parameters. An improved algorithm is proposed, aiming to achieve self-adaptive visualization by adjusting force model parameter automatically based on nodes’ characteristics. The self-adaptive algorithm has been proved by experiments to be more convenient to generate aesthetic and legible visualization than traditional FDA.
