Directional Analysis Around The Equilibrium Points In The Phase Space And Its Application To Analog Circuit Fault Diagnosis

This work presents a method for fault diagnosis of the analog circuit by driving the system directly with the output of a chaotic oscillator. Firstly, directional Lyapunov exponents (DLEs) are defined around the equilibrium points in the phase space. Then, DLEs are used to analyze the eigen structure of the output phase space around the equilibrium points. Finally, fault detection of the circuit under test (CUT) is done by analyzing the output phase space, which is reconstructed from the output time series of the CUT. Simulation results show that, parameter changes of the CUT will affect the eigen-structure of the output phase space around the equilibrium points, directional Lyapunov exponents are sensitive to these changes.
