For an actual bus transport network, its topological structure relies on its distinct terrain feature to a great extent. In our study, Lanzhou and Xi’an are selected as objects to analyses the vulnerability of bus transport network, they are typical linear city and radiate city, and are widely distributed in western China. The vulnerability of bus transport networks are evaluated by isolating a fraction of nodes randomly and deliberately, and observing the size of giant component as the amount of isolated nodes increases. Meanwhile, the pagerank algorithm is firstly applied to identify critical bus stations in undirected bus transport network as a new attack strategy. The simulation results demonstrate that both networks are relatively robust to random failure and more vulnerable to deliberate attack. Significant differences in terrain feature don’t have a strong impact on the vulnerability of bus transport network. In addition, the results also show that pagerank is an excellent criterion for identifying key nodes in bus transport network.
