In this paper, a simulation based study has been conducted to understand the effect of motion on the performance of spectrum sensing techniques. Simulations are done for the four techniques at different values of velocity. Power spectral density of received signal for energy detection is calculated. Detectors waveforms for a specific Signal to Noise Ratio but different vehicular velocity are plotted for four Spectrum Sensing Techniques. Response of the Eigen detection and matched filter detection has been observed along with Energy Detection and Cyclostationary Detection. As the vehicular speed increases the performance of the Matched filter detection degrades more as compared to the Eigen value detection and Cyclostationary detection for these two performance remained almost constant. But important observation is that performance of Energy Detection algorithm deteriorates severely due to vehicular speed which is otherwise very useful for fast detection of signal with sufficient reliability.
