This paper presents the review on different types of corrugated waveguides and the antennas for far field radiation pattern with improve gain, directivity and reduced side lobes. Corrugating the walls reduces the loss in straight runs and also at bends, and makes the waveguide robust against small deformations. The significant disadvantage of TE11 mode, side lobes and cross-polarization, is reduced by the HE11 mode. Now a days, working with a new type of corrugated horn antenna, consists on generating the fundamental Gaussian beam directly from the TE11 mode. This antennas are used when high degree of symmetry in radiation field and low cross polarization with high gain and pencil beam is required. This kind of Gaussian profile horn antenna having lower aperture in size.
