Improve the inferior quality of smudgy Latent fingerprint enhancement is essential for investigation purpose. Enhancement of the fingerprint is a primary step in the recognition process of Automated Fingerprint Recognition System (AFIS). Till now there are few research done on Latent fingerprint enhancement using adaptive filters. This paper is focused on the enhancement of Latent fingerprints algorithm and detail study of adaptive filters which used for the de - noising purpose.
