Optimal scheduling of electric vehicle charging based on real time price model

The electric vehicle can function as a complement to the grid and at the same time may pose a challenge to the system stability due to its charging load. To smooth out the load curve in the power system, three different charging schemes are studied based on the charging behavior of EV users and electric vehicle’s parameter. Then on the consideration of user’s response to electric price, a real time price model to optimize the load curve for EV charging including price elasticity is introduced. The numerical results show that this model is well established to shift load and smooth out load curve.
