This article, by calculating the ecological footprint of Xiamen coastal zone in a long-time series, analyzes the changing trends of productive ecological footprint and deficit, and the consumptive ecological footprint and deficit. It also evaluates the sustainability and fairness of this zone's development, determines the pattern of its sustainable development, and puts forward countermeasure suggestions for its sustainable development.
