Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) has been widely observed among various noble metal (Au, Ag, and Pt) due to the high electron density. However, LSPR is not limited to noble metals nanostructures and can be observed in poor metal (Cu, In, Al and Sn) and highly doped semiconductor nanocrystals with appreciable free carrier concentrations. To date, while considerable progresses have been achieved with regard to plasmonic solar cells,1 and plasmonic LEDs etc., few work has been carried out to study the application of LSPR in photodetectors,2, 3 which is an equally important optoelectronics devices. In this talk, we will focus on the optical properties of plasmonic AuNPs, InNPs and heavily doped ITONPs, with special attention paid onto the effect of these nanostructures on the device performance of one-dimensional nanostructures based photodetectors.
