Design of Multi-channel Photoacoustic Tomography System Based on FPGA

As a noninvasive imaging technology, photoacoustic tomography is becoming a hot research topic. In this paper, a fast photoacoustic tomography system is designed based on FPGA. The whole photoacoustic tomography system is composed of ultrasonic transducers, low noise pre-amplifier circuit, time gain compensation circuit, post-amplifier circuit, AD sampling circuit, serial communication circuit and PC display. FPGA is the main control circuit that is responsible for the whole system when to start or stop. It can read the data received from AD sample circuit and store in SRAM. And then the data is transmitted through USB to the PC. In order to match the data transmission speed, the system in two SRAM constitutes table cache mechanism.By such a scheme, fast imaging can be achieved and the quality of the image can be guaranteed.
