Modern TV cable signal distribution network system consists of distribution of DVBC signal over optical fibre. Digital signal amplifiers are used in the network to amplify the signal. It is very much essential to have good quality of the digital signal always to get an uninterrupted viewing experience of the TV programs.
In an analog TV distribution network, picture will be noisy if the signal strength is poor. However, in digital cable TV signal network, it is very essential to monitor signal parameters like SNR, BER, and modulation index etc. along with the signal strength to view un interrupted TV programs. Hence it is very much necessary to have advanced monitoring system to analyse the quality of the digital signal periodically.
It is also necessary to identify the problems in the distribution network immediately to have an uninterrupted TV Channel viewing experience.
The proposed solution in this technical paper is useful to monitor the status of digital cable TV signal network and to identify the problems if any immediately to take an appropriate corrective action.
