To produce the fused image more than two images are combined, which is more sharper and informative than the source image. In multi-focus image fusion, multiple images of the same scene but with different focuses are then combine to enhance the sharpness of an image, is the main objective of the multi-focus image fusion. How to estimate the local content information of an input image is the main analytical problem in the designing of multi-focus image fusion algorithms. The degree of image’s blur is then measured using proposed approach which is modeled by a locally adaptive Laplacian mixture model to assess the sharpness measure of an image by exploiting the spreading characteristics of wavelet coefficient distribution.
