Abstract: The fiber-optic current sensor for DC circuit breaker becomes more and more important in order to measure the transient fault current accurately. The optimized control strategy of fiber-optic current transformer (FOCT) is investigated in this paper. The transfer function of the closed-loop control system used in FOCT is established at first, in which the key influence factors of transient response are analyzed in detail. The control strategy is verified in the prototype of FOCT for 10kV DC circuit breaker. The experiment result shows that the rise time of step response is less than 30μs and the accuracy reaches 0.5 grade. Meanwhile, the measured transient current of FOCT agrees well with that of Hall current sensor.
