Study for Performance of Gas Insulated Switchgear for SF6 free Alternative Gas mixture

SF6 is essential gas for HV transmission and switchgear equipment. Because of its excellent performance. But SF6 is one of the greenhouse gas included in Kyoto Protocol. So there are many effort to reduce global warming potential(GWP) by using alternative gas.
We tests alternative gas of C3F5N and CO2 mixture for dielectric and temperature rise performance. GWP of Mixture gas is significantly lower than SF6 The test model is 170kV 50kA GIS. The result of test show little lower performance than SF6. but it is good for GIS performance. Detail result will be discussed at paper
