The Impact of Embeddedness of Social Network on the Resident’s Willingness of Vacating the Public Rental House in South Luogu Lane of Beijing

Family structure, social relations and cultural factors reflects the degree of embeddedness of social network. Using the data collected from the public rental house communities in South Luogu Lane of Beijing, we established the indicators of embeddedness of social network in order to analyze the impact upon resident’s willingness of vacating the public rental house. Results show: 1) the length of the embeddedness of social network based on family structure have a positive effect on the resident’s willingness, which fosters the vacating; 2) the depth of the embeddedness of social network not only have a bigger impact than the length of the embeddedness of social network, which limit resident’s willingness of vacating, but also will degrade the impact of the embeddedness of social network; 3) We think historical block renovation may lead residents vacate, however, it may bring economic losses and even break down the structure of social network of the local people.
