In this work, novel “one pot” coatings, based on the self-stratifying concept, have been designed to fire retard polycarbonate, using a mixture of epoxy/silicone or epoxy/fluoropolymer resins, a curing agent and various fillers. These coatings show outstanding flame retardant properties and excellent weathering resistance to moisture, temperature and UV ageing.
