Introduction

The ACRID 2017 conference track covering ICT, Internet of things, e-government and Engineering Education is a forum for the private and public sectors, researchers, academics, trainers, and other practitioners with the aim of exploiting common synergies. It is a track which covers all that is important in areas of the Internet and its impact on our society. This track gives a a platform for those who want to present the positive benefits of Internet, the Web, and Web applications in delivering good efficient governance systems. Universities in developing countries have hunger for knowledge but are faced with challenges of low investments in academic staff numbers but large classes. Several tools and programming platforms to deliver solutions that can bring efficiency and convenience wide sectors of our economy and indeed we speak of e-government, e-agriculture. In Engineering Education potentials exist for animated presentations, classroom interactions, computerised assignment systems and platforms such as Webwork, Top Hat, etc. Papers that suggest or offer solutions towards the development or use of open software are encouraged. The role of gender in Engineering Education is very important and aspects of gender mainstreaming are encouraged in this track. Because of the diversity of this track, sub-tracks have been created to enable more focus. There is ample scope for the exploration and exchange of knowledge in this field through scientific talks, industry discussions, technical tutorials and panels. This call covers all aspects of information and communication technology, e-government and Engineering Education. and sustainable development for industry, research and practice, including theory, management, applications and technology, and will bring together renowned experts.
