The 9th Meeting of International Society for the History of Medicine

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 9th Meeting of ISHM to be held during September 6-11, 2017 in Beijing, China.

It will be the first meeting of ISHM to be held in China and East Asian region. Following the legacy of being one of the most comprehensive and influential academic conferences on history of medicine, our scientific program will span different specialties and themes, inviting scholars in the various fields of history of medicine, medical anthropology, medical humanities and related disciplines.

This year’s meeting will proffer a wide range of topics: from history of history of medicine, medical tradition in East and West, medicine and culture, art and religion, Nobel prizes in medicine, evolution of medical education to history of hospital, history of healthcare reforms, history of diseases and its impact on society, history of global health and international hygiene, history and culture of body, as well as interregional collaborations in cross-cultural studies of related disciplines. It is expected that over 300 leading experts and researchers from different countries will be convened, offering a great opportunity to share and communicate, to build academic network, and to update and contribute to the progress of history of medicine and medical humanities.
