Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) tightly interact with the physical environment in an unprecedented ubiquitous and pervasive fashion, and hold the promise of a revolution in the way we perceive the world and interact with it. These are enabling new cooperative and decentralized solutions that are targeting several domains, and particularly in industrial automation enabling the Digital Factory of the Future (Industry 4.0). CPS are also increasingly finding their way into safety-critical applications such as cruise control, autonomous vehicles control, and flight control systems. In these systems, dependability and security are of the utmost importance. Also, challenges such as timeliness, robustness and security must also be addressed if these infrastructures are to become a reality.
Topics:
Dependability in CPS (real-time, reliability, availability, safety, security);
Methodologies and tool chains for modelling and simulating CPS;
Emerging applications in CPS, including automotive, aerospace, railway, and maritime domains;
Selforganization and energy efficiency CPS;
Control and Optimization of CPS;
Networking systems for CPS applications.
