In 2017, the IEEE Symposium on Fusion Engineering (SOFE) will move outside the United States for the first time in its 52-year history. The 27th SOFE will be held in Shanghai, one of China’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities. The decision to go to China recognizes the rapid growth in fusion research and advanced engineering in that country, and the growing participation of Chinese researchers in SOFE in recent years.
Abstracts for contributed papers will be accepted in the following categories:
Experimental devices
Plasma operation and control
Diagnostics and instrumentation
Magnets
Divertors and high heat flux components
Plasma facing components
Plasma-material interactions, plasma edge physics
Plasma heating and current drive
