Introduction

The National Institute of Telecommunications, former Department of Transmission and Optical Technologies in Warsaw, together with the Universitat de Girona (UdG) and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC) and the IEEE Photonics Society Poland Chapter are pleased to announce the 19th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks ICTON 2017 which will be kindly hosted at the Girona Conference Centre, Girona, Spain, July 2-6, 2017. Technical co-sponsorship by the IEEE Photonics Society is foreseen.
Girona city, only 65 km from the French border (100 km from Perpignan) and 100 km from Barcelona, is an excellent starting point for celebrating all kind of meetings and conferences. The Girona Conference Centre is located in the city center and it has excellent air, rail and road connections.
