Special Session on Semantic Intelligence

A major aspect of artificial intelligence (AI) is concerned with the way semantic information is processed for problem – solving purposes. Such an aspect appears well in a wide range of issues like "question answering", "motivation analysis", "text mining / summarization", "text understanding / interpretation", "idea generation", as well as "creation of literal / artistic pieces" including "story creation" and "poem generation". The focal point in such sort of intelligence is that, relations between the semantic units belonging to a certain situation are principally able to constitute a ground for making appropriate solution(s) for that situation. In this regard, besides the existing approaches to natural language processing (NLP), the schemes for representing background knowledge (frame, script, ontology, case,. . .) and the existing approaches to inference / reasoning as well as uncertainty / ambiguity handling are of high significance.
