Deep-Water contourite and associated sedimentary processes are growing in interest due to their complexity. The aim of the Deep-Water Circulation Conference is to bring together the community of contourite scientists to stimulate multi-disciplinary discussions. The previous two meetings (Vigo, Spain, 2010; Ghent, Belgium, 2014) have provided excellent opportunities for scientists to share and exchange ideas and information. We invite sincerely you to participate in the 3rd Deep-Water Circulation Conference organized by China University of Geosciences at Wuhan, China, from 14th to 16th September, 2017.
The conference consists of three days meeting with oral and poster presentations. Our intention is to keep the thematic range of Deep-Water Circulation Conference open and flexible. All topics on contourites are welcome, and the following themes will be given a higher chance for oral presentation in order to boost the level of the conference and foster discussions.
Contourites sedimentology: Morphology, geometry and palaeoceanographic reconstructions
Fossil contourites: Problems and palaeoceanographic signification
Oceanographic observatories: Coupling between oceanographic, sedimentary and biological processes
Interaction between contourite and turbidite systems
Economic relevance and importance of contourites
Advances in technologies and methods on contourite studies
