2017 Special Session on Endoscopic Imaging and Image Analysis

Moving forward from open-surgery (laparotomy) to keyhole-surgery (endoscopy, laparoscopy) also brought the necessity to have novel attitude towards surgical actions from the experts. New instruments, new techniques are needed to perform these minimally invasive procedures. The aim of this session is to bring together researchers in various fields (i.e. physicians, computer scientists, and engineering technicians) to exchange and discuss new ideas and advances in the field of endoscopic imaging and related image analysis tasks.
