Symposium on Emulsion Polymerization and Functional Polymeric Microspheres (ASEPFPM 6)

ASEPFPM was established in 1996, and the first meeting was held in Zhejian University, Hangzhou, China, hosted by the late Professor Zuren Pan. After a long interval of silence, the 2nd International Symposium on Polymeric Microspheres, held in Fukui, Japan, in 2005, increased momentum to hold the Asian Symposium again, and the ASEPFPM 2 was held in Beijing, China, in 2007, thanks to Prof. Guanghui Ma, Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Bo-Geng Li, Zhejian University. In 2009, ASEPFPM 3 was hosted by Prof. Jung Hyun Kim, Yonsei University, and was held in Jeju Island, South Korea. In 2011, Prof. Pauline Pei Li, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, kindly hosted the ASEPFPM 4 in Hong Kong, China. We enjoyed beautiful Christmas illumination of the city. In 2015, ASEPFPM 5 was held in Suzhou, China, hosted by Prof. Guanghui Ma. 

For the first time in this series of symposium, ASEPFPM 6 will be held in Fukui, Japan, March 7 – 10, 2018. The Honorable Chairperson of this symposium is one of the founding fathers of the kinetics of emulsion polymerization, Professor Emeritus at University of Fukui, Dr. Mamoru Nomura.

In Japan, we have a biannual domestic Polymeric Microspheres Symposium since 1980. ASEPFPM 6 is organized by the steering committee of the Polymeric Microspheres Symposium in Japan. ASEPFPM 6 is a special opportunity to expand the discussion on the various aspects of polymeric microspheres to all over Asia.
