Introduction

The LGW Conference is an established biennial conference that provides a forum for teachers and researchers who are interested in the exploration and exchange of research findings, experience and perspectives in language teaching, language learning and language skills development.

Building on the success of the previous LGW Conferences in September 2012 and in May 2015, the 3rd LGW Conference will again be an international platform for the discussion of the importance of multilingual literacy and multicultural competence in a globalised world.

The aim of the LGW Conference is to bring together academics, teacher trainers, materials development experts and students concerned with discourse analysis, bilingual and multilingual education, multilingualism and plurilingualism in a globalised world, language learning provisions in the wider curriculum, languages and the world of work, digital age and its implications on research and language learning and teaching.

The conference will consist of plenary sessions run by eminent guest speakers of a professorial rank, and paper presentations or posters. We welcome abstracts of articles studying any language, spoken in any country in the world, including minority and endangered languages.

Plenary Speakers at the LGW Conference:

Professor Mirosław Pawlak (Adam Mickiewicz University), Poland
Professor François Pichette (TÉLUQ - University of Quebec), Canada
Professor Michael McCarthy (University of Nottingham), United Kingdom
