Introduction

The 2017 International Symposium on Wearable Robotics & Rehabilitation (WeRob2017) will be held for the first time in the USA, and is expanding its scope to include rehabilitation robotics. The event will take place Nov. 5-8 at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown (806 Main St., Houston, TX 7700) and is co-sponsored with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), TIRR Memorial Hermann and the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Participants will enjoy interactive workshops with engineers, clinicians, and end users to promote collaboration among different disciplines.

There will be a product theater demonstrating the latest in wearable exoskeletons and rehabilitation robots. The symposium will showcase the expertise of international speakers from academia, government, industry and rehabilitation centers, as well as the experience and feedback of end users of robotic devices.
