Introduction

The recent advances of sensing technology make it possible to contribute to the developments of intelligent systems in future human assistive applications. The sensory factors may involve broad functions in system integration, therefore the session specially focuses on human factors, IoT applications and human assistive systems. For example, the human intention is expected to be estimated by force information, behavior, neural signals, and so on.

Also, vision sensing technique is one of key factors to achieve useful information for machine control system. These sensor information are not only detected by physical sensor devices also estimated with software calculation as observers. Furthermore, how to apply the detected sensor information is a key for the assistive systems, e.g. power assist wheeled chairs, human life support, remote control systems. Thus, the sensor technologies are important for assisting human life. This session therefore aims to discuss new trends of sensing and its applications for emerging system functions, mobility and robotics.
