This paper aims to reform the traditional methods of teaching Chinese culture English course, and puts forward the new concept as “Three Teaching Modes”: language form teaching as the first classroom, flipped classroom as the second, and cultural practice as the third classroom. This concept advocates the “students-centered” teaching idea, facilitate the interaction of the teacher and the students, the interaction among the students, and the connection between in-class and after-class cultural activities. Through the research methods of questionnaire, class observation and in-depth interview, the one-year practice proves that “Three Teaching Modes” can improve at once the learners’ English language competence and Chinese culture sensibility. In the meantime, it can cultivate the student’s cultural literacy, critical thinking competence and confidence in Chinese culture.
