Introduction

It is our pleasure to announce that the 2018 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference will be held in Chongqing, China from October 26-28, 2018. The PHM conference has become the top PHM forum in the Asia-Pacific area for connecting with leaders in PHM from around the world.

PHM-Chongqing serves as a premier interdisciplinary forum for researchers, scientists, and scholars in the domains of aeronautics and astronautics, energy and power systems, process industries, computers and telecommunications, and industrial automation. The most recent innovations, trends, concerns, challenges, and solutions will be presented and discussed. Over 400 people are expected to join in this cutting-edge conference, and you are invited to meet old friends and create new contacts.

English is the official language of PHM-Chongqing.

Following the successful PHM conferences over the past 17 years, the 2018 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference will be held in Chongqing, China, from October 26 to 28, 2018. This conference will provide a premier interdisciplinary forum on PHM related topics. All the accepted papers will be published in IEEE Xplore® and indexed by Engineering Index (EI). Selected excellent papers will be published in a special issue.

Chongqing is a scenic city with an abundance of hills and winding roads, and over 40 bridges on the beautiful Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. Chongqing has a rich history with numerous ancient sites, as well as being the home to over 20 universities. Chongqing is one of the five national central cities in China, and also serves as China's third largest centre for motor vehicle production and the largest for motorcycles. Chongqing is famous for its unique food, particularly hot pot.

With the developments of German Industries 4.0, Industrial Internet of the U.S., and China Manufacturing 2025, the global manufacturing industry is facing a crucial transformation. As the systems become more complex, higher standards on reliability and safety are required. The theme of PHM-Chongqing is PHM for new industry architecture. At the conference, Industrial Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), etc., are part of the main focuses.
