The 7th China-Japan Geotechnical Symposium (CJGS 2018) will bring Chinese and Japanese experts in Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering research and practice to Sanya to present and share their latest research and practice. The 7th China-Japan Geotechnical Symposium will be held in Sanya, which is the southernmost city on Hainan Island, and one of the four prefecture-level cities of Hainan Province, in Southeast China.
The Symposium is supported by the Chinese Institution of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering – China Civil Engineering Society (CISMGE – CCES) and The Japanese Geotechnical Society (JGS). The Symposium endeavors to create a platform for experienced and young researchers to exchange ideas and share information with experts in their respective fields.
The China-Japan Geotechnical Symposium initiated from 2003 and has been successfully held in Beijing (1st, 2003), Shanghai (2nd, 2005), Chongqing (3rd, 2007), Okinawa (4th, 2010), Chengdu (5th, 2012) and Sapporo (6th, 2015).The 7th China-Japan Geotechnical Symposium will feature the state-of-the-art progresses in Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering achieved by Chinese and Japanese researchers and engineers.
New progresses in Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering including but not limited to
(1) Strength and deformation for high landfills
(2) Underground space and tunnelling techniques
(3) Environmental geotechnics
(4) Foundation engineering
(5) Geo-hazards and earthquake engineering
