Introduction

ERMAC's main objective is to promote quality research and teaching in Applied and Computational Mathematics in different regions of Brazil. The ERMAC also aims to disseminate Applied and Computational Mathematics to a wide audience, the formation of human capital in the area of Applied and Computational Mathematics and the integration, exchange of experiences and academic and scientific exchange between professors and researchers working in the Country. In summary, the ERMAC is an event whose focus is the dissemination of Applied and Computational Mathematics to a large public: teachers, students and researchers in the great areas of exact sciences and engineering.

The V Regional Meeting of Applied and Computational Mathematics - BA-AL-SE aims to achieve the following goals:

1. Strengthening of SBMAC in the region, not only for the dissemination of society, but also for the search for new members.

2. Congregation of students and professionals interested in Applied and Computational Mathematics.

3. Development of Applied and Computational Mathematics in the northeast region, through the encouragement and encouragement to carry out teaching activities (at all levels), research and extension.

4. Elaboration of programs and joint actions with institutions of education and research in the region.

5. Integration between researchers and professionals in the various areas of technology, health and science that use mathematics as a tool to describe their activities.

6. Dissemination of teaching, research and extension activities related to the congress area, which are being developed in the northeast region.

The Brazilian Society of Applied and Computational Mathematics (SBMAC) is an open civil society of a non-profit nature, of indefinite duration, with unlimited number of members and with objectives directed to the areas of Applied and Computational Mathematics ( http: //www.sbmac .org.br). The SBMAC brings together researchers from several areas with interest in the development of mathematical models and computational methods for solving problems from Engineering and Exact and Applied Sciences. Their meetings provide an opportunity for these professionals to exchange experiences and establish new partnerships. The most important event held by SBMAC is the National Congress of Applied and Computational Mathematics (CNMAC), which has been held since 1978, and is now a biennial one since 2010.

It is the most important event in Applied Mathematics in Brazil (CNMAC), bringing together more than 05 hundred participants every year, among undergraduate and graduate students, professors and researchers from Universities and Research Centers (from Brazil and abroad) , elementary and middle school teachers and professionals working in the field.

The Congresses of Applied and Computational Mathematics (CMAC) and Regional Meetings of Applied and Computational Mathematics (ERMAC) are events derived from CNMAC and are also supported by the SBMAC. The organization of these congresses counts on the collaboration of the regional coordinators who support SBMAC. In 2011 I CMAC was held in UBERLANDIA-MG, being named I CMAC-SE and in 2012 I CMAC-NE was held in the city of Natal-RN.

In the regional context (BA-AL-SE) four ERMACs (Regional Meeting of Applied Computational Mathematics) were held, one in Aracajú in 2002, the second in 2011 in Vitória da Conquista-BA, the third in Ilhéus in 2013 at UESC, both with support from FAPESB and the fourth in 2015 at UFS in Aracaju. In 2012, the 1st Workshop on Applied and Computational Mathematics BA-AL-SE was held at the State University of Santa Cruz (Ilhéus-BA). In 2016, the First Mathematics Workshop of UFAL was held at the Arapiraca Campus, with the support of SBMAC, where courses were set and partnerships were established for the V ERMAC BA-AL-SE.
