Introduction

Technologies of Sensing and Imaging utilize and combine a variety of knowledge and tools, such as optics, electricity & magnetism, heats, sounds, mathematics, as well as computers, to noninvasively characterize the objects of interest, it thus gains increasing attentions in recent years.

ICSI 2018 aims to gather together the leading scientists and promising scholars worldwide in the fields of Sensing and Imaging, providing a platform for the participants to communicate, discuss and collaborate on a broad scope of topics, including imaging theories, technologies, and applications, as well as remote sensing, signal capturing and processing. The conference will also bridge the gap between the scientists and the engineers specifying in various fields of manufacturing, such as instrument design, product quality control, energy resources and medical diagnosis, with the purpose of rapid translation of the sensing & imaging technologies into practical applications.

ICSI 2018 is one of the series conferences on Sensing and Imaging, following a great successful ICSI 2017 that was held on June 5-7, 2017 in Chendu city, Sichuan province, China.

National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), China Computer Federation (CCF) and the Guangxi University of Science and Technology (GXUST) are the primary sponsors of ICSI 2018. Prof. Simin Li, the President of GXUST, is the general chair for this conference. Prof. Ming Jiang at PKU is the Co-Chairs for this conference. The Academic Committee consists of leading scientists and experts worldwide in the fields of Sensing and Imaging. The conference will be held on October 15-18, 2018, in city of Liuzhou, a beautiful city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. With more than 2100 years of history, Liuzhou, also known as Longcheng (Dragon City), is a famous historic and cultural city designated by the State Council. The most famous historic figure is Liu Zongyuan (773-819), who was a poet and politician in the Tang Dynasty and died in Liuzhou.

Guangxi University of Science and Technology (GXUST) is the primary sponsor of ICSI 2018. Prof. Simin Li, the President of GXUST, is the general chair for this conference. Profs. Nathan Ida and Ming Jiang are the Co-Chairs for this conference.
