Introduction

The conference will feature oral presentations and posters by authors in the industry, academia.The goal of the conference is to promote cross-functional and cross-divisional understanding and provide employees and students the opportunity to present their recent work. We welcome any non-confidential work given at external conferences or published, as well as any work from your current projects. Authors are welcome to present on all nanotechnology topics including semiconductors, packaging, manufacturing, software, etc. The program will consist of a keynote by an eminent speaker, along with 15 minute presentations from the technical community. In addition, poster sessions will provide a less formal venue and allow for in-depth discussions with the authors.

The IEEE Electron Device Society, Schenectady Chapter is hosting our 2018 IEEE Nanotechnology Symposium (ANTS). The conference will feature oral presentations and posters by authors from the industry, academia, federal and private research institutions. The goal of the conference is to promote cross-functional and interdisciplinary research and provide the opportunity to present any recent non-confidential work related to semiconductor scaling, packaging, manufacturing, memory technologies, artificial intelligence and nanosciences.

The program will consist of a keynote by Dr. John Cohn, IBM Fellow, and EDS distinguished lecture by Dr. Rajiv Joshi, IEEE Fellow and IBM Master Inventor. There will be oral presentations from both invited speakers and participants. In addition, poster sessions will provide a less formal venue and allow for in-depth discussions. Registration is free and all attendees are required to pre-register online. Accepted papers meeting IEEE quality standards and format requirements will be published in the Proceedings of 2018 IEEE Nanotechnology Symposium (ANTS) in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

We will also be hosting a Women in Engineering (WIE) event on November 14th from 5 pm to 7 pm, to be attended by women engineers from industry and academia. Attendance to this event is on a first come first serve basis and is only open to the first 50 applicants.

Winners in the following categories will be recognized at the end of the conference:  Best Poster Presentation, Best Oral Presentation (Student/Professional/New-hire categories).
