2021 Yenching Global Symposium (2021YGS)

The Yenching Global Symposium (YGS) is a highly competitive international conference hosted by the Yenching Academy at Peking University on a yearly basis. This year, given the risks of COVID-19 and to comply with public health regulations, this Symposium will be held entirely online for the first time, providing us with the unique opportunity to host a larger number of delegates from all over the globe for this much anticipated academic adventure.

We are excited to announce the theme of our upcoming Symposium: “Shared Renewal: Recoupling East with West”. As such, we will reflect upon the consequences of the pandemic; discuss solutions that build resilient and sustainable societies; and chart the recovery – all with an interdisciplinary and international lens. 

The Symposium presents you with an opportunity to embark upon a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, in which delegates, scholars and speakers from all over the globe will build lasting relationships and engage in constructive, solutions-oriented dialogue on China’s role in the world.
