A simple inverse reduced-gravity model was used to study the dynamics of the interaction between western boundary current and the eddy in the deep South China Sea (SCS). In this study, a series of experiments were designed to investigate the interaction between the deep western boundary currents (DWBC) and the deep eddies. It is found that the eddy dissipation process is closely related to the strength of the DWBC, the stronger the current is, the faster the eddy dissipates. At the same time, the strength of the eddy also has an effect on the DWBC, including affecting the structure of the DWBC and the axis of the DWBC. Further results show that the differences in these processes have a certain influence on the transport of sediment in the deep SCS.
