A Numerical Study on the Larval Dispersal Pathways and Potential Connectivity of Coral Reefs around the Coast of Hainan Island

近几十年来,海南岛沿海珊瑚礁持续退化。珊瑚礁种群之间的连通性对于珊瑚礁的自然复原力至关重要。幼虫扩散是建立连通性的基础,是塑造珊瑚礁生物多样性模式的关键驱动力。目前,海南岛沿海主要珊瑚礁区之间的珊瑚幼虫扩散途径及其由此产生的连通性尚不清楚。基于三维水动力模型,研究海南岛周边12个主要珊瑚礁区域的珊瑚幼虫扩散途径及相关连通性,采用拉格朗日粒子追踪方法识别出重要的珊瑚幼虫来源和汇礁。在海面洋流的驱使下,海南岛东部珊瑚礁区释放的珊瑚幼虫主要沿海岸线向南扩散。对于中上层幼虫持续时间较长的幼虫,可以随着当前方向的变化向北迁移。对于海南岛的西部珊瑚礁,珊瑚幼虫主要向北扩散,可以到达广西沿海地区。海南岛东部珊瑚礁区连通性强于西部珊瑚礁区。此外,东部和西部珊瑚礁地区之间的珊瑚礁连通性非常薄弱。然而,原产于木兰港的珊瑚幼虫可以通过琼州海峡向西扩散到海南岛西北部。此外,云龙港和东罗岛附近的珊瑚礁区很可能分别是海南岛东部和西部地区珊瑚幼虫的重要来源。研究结果揭示了海南岛周围沿海珊瑚礁的连通性,为珊瑚礁的恢复和保护管理提供了科学依据。
