第十九届全国循环经济与生态工业学术研讨会暨中国生态经济学学会工业生态经济与技术专业委员会2025年年会

On December 14, the 18th National Academic Symposium on Circular Economy and Eco-Industrial Systems, jointly held with the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Professional Committee of Industrial Eco-Economics and Technology, Chinese Society of Ecological Economics, was successfully held in Harbin.

This symposium was sponsored by the Professional Committee of Industrial Eco-Economics and Technology, Chinese Society of Ecological Economics; the Professional Committee of Circular Economy, Chinese Society of Ecological Economics; and Harbin Institute of Technology. It was organized by the State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment and the School of Environment, Harbin Institute of Technology. Over 200 experts and scholars from more than 60 universities and research institutes across China attended the event to exchange insights and jointly advance innovation in circular economy and eco-industrial systems.

Keynote addresses were delivered by Academician Wan-Tai Yang (Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University), Academician Nan-Qi Ren (Chinese Academy of Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology), Mr. Yu-Jie Hou (Deputy General Manager & Chief Engineer, China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd.), and Prof. Jian Liu (Member of the Party Committee and Vice President, Harbin Institute of Technology). Prof. Yu Tian (Deputy Director, State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment) presided over the opening ceremony.

The theme of this symposium is “Innovation-Driven, Green & Low-Carbon, Circular Development.” Distinguished attendees included Mr. Li-Yang Zhu (President, China Association of Circular Economy), Prof. Guan-Yi Chen (President, Tianjin University of Commerce), Prof. Shan-Ying Hu (Vice President, Chinese Society of Ecological Economics), Prof. Ya-Lei Zhang (Dean, Institute of Industrial Research, Tongji University), Prof. Fang-Qin Cheng (Former Vice President, Shanxi University), Prof. Qing-Hua Chen (Former Vice President, Fujian Normal University), Prof. Lü-Jun Chen (Executive Deputy Director, Tsinghua University Center for Ecological Civilization), Prof. Jia-Kuan Yang (Dean, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology), Prof. Heng Liang (Dean, School of Environment, Harbin Institute of Technology), Prof. Yi Xing (Dean, School of Environmental and Biological Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing), Prof. Yu-Feng Wu (Dean, Institute of Circular Economy, Beijing University of Technology), and Prof. Yi-Fei Sun (Executive Dean, College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Hainan University).

Over one hundred renowned scholars and experts engaged in in-depth discussions on six key topics: low-carbon treatment and resource recovery of solid waste; hazardous waste management and pollution control; efficient conversion and integrated disposal of solid waste; source reduction and high-value utilization of solid waste; data-enabled circular economy and carbon neutrality; and industrial ecology and low-carbon development — all aligned with national strategic priorities and societal needs.

A Young Scholars and Graduate Student Forum was also held during the symposium, where eight young researchers received the “Best Oral Presentation” award.

Since its inception in 2006, the National Academic Symposium on Circular Economy and Eco-Industrial Systems has been held annually for 17 consecutive years, establishing itself as a leading academic brand in the field of circular economy and eco-industrial systems in China.
