www.cfeee.org July 4–6, 2025 concluded successfully in Shanghai. CFEEE 2025 was held at Longemont Shanghai Hotel from July 4 to 6, 2025. On July 5, 2025, the 4th International Conference on Frontiers of Energy and Environment Engineering (CFEEE 2025) opened grandly at Longemont Shanghai Hotel, with over 300 experts, scholars and industry representatives attending. Responding to the national strategy of “providing safe and reliable energy security for Chinese-style modernization”, the conference was sponsored by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, co-organized by Sanya Zongheng Energy Research Institute and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and supported by Tianjin University, Hunan University, Hebei University of Technology, ShanghaiTech University, Shanghai University of Electric Power, State Grid Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Company, Shanghai Keliang Information Co., Ltd., and IEEE IAS Shanghai Jiao Tong University Student Chapter. Centered on the core theme “Smart Energy · Zero-Carbon Future”, the conference featured academic sessions including keynote speeches, parallel forum presentations, and poster exhibitions to share the latest research outcomes.
PART .01 [On-site Registration & Check-in] Smart Energy · Zero-Carbon Future
PART .02 [Opening Ceremony] The opening ceremony was formally held on the morning of July 5, hosted by Prof. Nengling Tai, Deputy Dean of the School of Smart Energy Innovation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Prof. Ansheng Zhang, Special Deputy Director of the University Council and former Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, delivered an opening address, extending a warm welcome to all guests on behalf of the sponsor and offering sincere congratulations on the successful convening of the conference, officially declaring its commencement.
PART .03 [Keynote Presentations] Four distinguished keynote speakers were invited: Academician Yi Zhang (RTDS Technologies, Canada), Prof. Wei Gu (Southeast University), Prof. Yi Ding (Zhejiang University), and Prof. Yixin Zhao (Shanghai Jiao Tong University). Their insightful presentations covered cutting-edge technologies and development trends in related fields. The first session was moderated by Prof. Nengling Tai (Shanghai Jiao Tong University); Academician Yi Zhang introduced the latest advances in real-time simulation of renewable energy systems. The second session was moderated by Prof. Fushuan Wen (Zhejiang University); Prof. Wei Gu discussed applications of quantum computing in new power systems and addressed challenges posed by ultra-large-scale data. Prof. Yi Ding presented optimization methods for virtual power plants and electricity market trading under China’s dual-carbon goals, considering heterogeneous energy resources. Prof. Yixin Zhao focused on challenges brought by perovskite solar cell industry development to photovoltaics and power systems.
Keynote 1: Yi Zhang — “Real Time: Simulation of Renewable Energy Systems”
Keynote 2: Wei Gu — “Power System and Quantum Calculation”
Keynote 3: Yi Ding — “Optimal Operation of Virtual Power Plants Considering Heterogenous Resources in the Electricity Market”
Keynote 4: Yixin Zhao — “Development and Challenges of Perovskite Solar Cells”
PART .04 [Specialized Parallel Forums] Following the keynotes, parallel forum sessions and poster exhibitions were held. The conference featured 9 parallel forums, 38 invited talks, 39 oral presentations, and over 10 poster displays. Topics included: novel energy storage technologies supporting safe, efficient and clean operation of power systems; new grid-forming technologies and applications; digital & intelligent transformation of energy and power systems and smart grids; integration of energy and transportation; resilience enhancement and intelligent control & protection technologies for new distribution systems; optimal control and operation of new energy stations; high-efficiency motor systems; AI-driven optimization of power grid planning and operation; fault analysis and protection of new power systems with large-scale renewable energy integration. Two expert chairs were appointed for each forum to comment on oral presentations and engage in in-depth discussions with presenters.
PART .05 [Awards, Handover & Closing Ceremony] The conference concluded successfully on July 5. The closing ceremony was hosted by Prof. Wentao Huang (Shanghai Jiao Tong University). After evaluation by the Organizing Committee, awards were conferred for Outstanding Oral Presentation, Excellent Paper, Best Poster, and Best Paper. At the handover ceremony, the hosting responsibility was transferred from Shanghai Jiao Tong University to Shanghai University of Electric Power. We sincerely thank all institutions and scholars for their support in 2025, and look forward to reuniting in Shanghai for CFEEE 2026!
