Introduction

The conference is organized by the ChinaCALL (China Association for Computer-Assisted Language Learning) under the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese. It is co-organized by the School of Online Education and the Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Human Languages at Beijing Foreign Studies University, and the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures at South China Normal University. Co-sponsors include The Education University of Hong Kong, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, City University of Macau, The Open University’s Confucius Institute (UK), the Virtual Exchange (VE) China Hub, the Editorial Office of the Journal of China Computer-Assisted Language Learning, Beijing FLTRP Online Digital Technology Co., Ltd., and Linguaskill (Cambridge Assessment). The conference emphasizes deep interaction and practicality, providing a platform for exchange, discussion, advancement, and collaboration in exploring the integration and development of new technologies and foreign language teaching. Themed “AI-empowered Digital Language Education and Applied Linguistics: Bridging Theory and Practice”, the conference features pre-conference workshops, keynote speeches, symposia, individual presentations, and colloquia to share knowledge, skills, and innovative ideas at the intersection of technology and language learning. Three featured forums are included: 1) Greater Bay Area Forum on AI-Enhanced Language Education; 2) Basic Foreign Language Education Forum; 3) Online Collaborative Learning / Virtual Exchange Forum.

Guidlines

Submission Method: Abstracts must be submitted via desktop after successful registration.
All submissions must be original and unpublished.
Deadline: Abstract submission closes on August 15, 2026.
Maximum two abstracts per author.
Content Requirements: Abstracts must be no more than 300 words (excluding title, authors, affiliations, and references), covering research background, objectives, methodology, and conclusions (funding sources should be acknowledged if applicable).
Upon acceptance, full short papers (~3,000 words, in either Chinese or English) must be submitted to conference@beiwaionline.com by October 15, 2026. Templates are available for download on the official website.
